Life
A man is born gentle and eak. At his death he is hard and stiff. Green plants are tender and filled full of sap. At their death they are wewak ane dryed. Therefore the stiff and unbending  are the disciples of death. The gentle and yielding are the disciples of life. Thus an army without flexibilty nevers  wins the battle.
A tree that is unbending is easily broken. The hard and strong ill fall. The soft and eak ill overcome. Lao Tzu
